The Hershey Story Wins “Best of Web” Award

Harrisburg, PA (July 28, 2009) – The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue has won the Central Penn Business Journal’s Best of the Web Award in theBest of the Web category. They were recognized for their quality, functional and productive Web site, HersheyStory.org.

“The Hershey Story is a new museum. Taking into consideration that every person coming to the museum is a first-time visitor, the site needed to take them by the hand and explain the ‘who, what and where’ of the facility,” said emcee David Shankweiler. “On the site, visitors can schedule their trip to coincide with a class, a tasting or another public program. In addition, a customized CMS system enables The Hershey Story staff to promote new features and activities visitors can enjoy. To date, visitor attendance is more than twice the number at the old Hershey Museum location.”

An independent panel of judges evaluated qualifying, nominated companies, and 45 top-ranking finalists in 15 categories were selected. Finalists were honored and the winners announced at the awards luncheon held in conjunction with the Internet Summit on Monday, July 27, 2009.

A special online supplement with event photos, winner profiles, and Internet Summit recaps can be found at www.centralpennbusiness.com/CPBJweb. Questions about either program can be directed to Colleen Jones, event coordinator, at (717) 236-4300 or colleenj@journalpub.com.
