Our volunteer opportunities benefit the community of Hershey, PA as well as those who offer their time.
Volunteer work can be an enriching experience. The Hershey Story relies heavily on the help of volunteers who are asked to assist with a variety of tasks working with the public or behind the scenes. Please consider lending us your special skill or simply sharing your knowledge and memories with others! It’s a great way to give back to Mr. Hershey’s community.

Past Master (youth volunteer)
Applications will be accepted beginning in early 2025 through May 23, 2025. Click below to apply.
Description: Spend your summer doing something worthwhile and gain valuable pre-job experience! Apply for The Hershey Story’s popular “Past Master” program. The youth volunteer program at The Hershey Story invites students 12-16 years old to help with our summer programming and offers them the inside scoop on working in a museum. Volunteers will learn fun Hershey and chocolate making facts to share with guests. Helping kids with scavenger hunts in the Museum Experience, demonstrating hands-on activities in the museum and our special exhibit, and creating sweet treats with camp groups are all part of this exciting summer program. Because public interaction is vital to these volunteer jobs, we are seeking volunteers who are outgoing and comfortable talking to adults and children.
Expectations: Youth accepted into the program must attend mandatory training in June. Youth volunteers must also commit to volunteering a minimum of 7 times during the summer. Volunteer shifts are available most days during our operating hours.
Applications are not currently being accepted. We will resume accepting applications in early 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled, with a deadline of May 23, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. Click below to apply.
