Our unique programs are designed to immerse Scouts in a variety of topics, while completing their badge requirements.

Special Badge Workshops

Indian Lore Merit Badge Workshop
Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.

Scouts will complete requirements for the Indian Lore merit badge through exploration of the museum’s American Indian artifact collection, identifying cultural areas, creating replicas of objects, playing traditional games and learning the history of the Susquehannocks.
$15 for per Scout; $12 per Leader*.  Troops and individual scouts must be accompanied by a registered adult. Register and purchase tickets here.

*Extra adults and children  may purchase Museum Experience tickets here, or at the admissions desk on the day of the workshop. Only Scouts and leaders will be permitted to participate in workshop activities.  Workshop registration includes Museum Experience admission for the day.

Participation in this program does not qualify scouts for a Hershey Story patch. To earn that patch, scouts must complete the “Scouting for History” guide and also participate in a public Chocolate Lab class or Chocolate Tasting.

Brownie Girl Scout “Senses” Badge Workshop
Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Girls can exercise all of their senses during this interactive workshop. Activities include a hunt through the museum, a make-and-take touch chart and a trip to the Chocolate Lab*.
$15 for per Scout; $12 per Leader**; badge included.  Register and purchase tickets here

*The Chocolate Lab is not allergen free. However, we make every effort to exclude the use of tree and ground nuts. Scouts with food allergies may not be able to participate in all parts of the Chocolate Lab portion of the program. See contact information below for specific questions.

Junior Girl Scout “Playing the Past” Badge Workshop
Saturday, April 6 , 2019 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Enjoy a morning of hands-on activities at The Hershey Story!  Girls will experience the many stories of Hershey through the eyes of girls and women who lived long ago.  In addition to exploring the exhibits, scouts will play old-fashioned games and create two crafts to take home.
$12 for per Junior Scout and Leaders*; badge included.   Register and purchase tickets here beginning January 7, 2019.

Scouting for History

Explore the Museum Experience with one of our scavenger hunts created especially for Scouts. The hunts, which satisfy some scouting requirements, stress Milton Hershey’s example as an entrepreneur and philanthropist. “Scouting for History” is available to Scout groups or individuals at any time; Museum Experience admission must be purchased to complete a guide*. Please ask for your free “Scouting for History” guide at the admissions desk, or print a copy below.

Earn a Hershey Story Scout Patch!

 

Hershey Story PatchScout groups or individual scouts of any age who complete the following will be awarded with a Hershey Story patch:

• Complete “Scouting for History” in the Museum Experience
AND
• Attend a public Chocolate Lab class, or a special holiday program, such as Little Elves Workshop, or take part in a Chocolate Tasting.

Patches will be awarded (at no additional cost) at The Hershey Story admissions desk upon completion of the above activities. For reservations and group rates for five or more scouts, complete this form  or call 717.520.5596.
