Movie Magic: The History of Moving Pictures
November 11, 12, 18, 19, 2026 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

All programs are the same.

Discover how the magical illusion of movement started with novelty amusements and developed into the films we enjoy today. Try early moving picture inventions, learn how to make movie sound effects, create your own moving illusions and write your own story board.

Plus, watch clips of early motion pictures to experience what life looked like over 100 years ago, including here in Hershey. Every participant will also make their own Hollywood inspired chocolate creation!

Admission to the museum is included along with an educational scavenger hunt through the exhibits, and our new special exhibit – From Story to Screen: The Making of the Hershey Movie.

Cost: $17 for ages 3 and over.
Ages 2 and under are free.

All students, parents, siblings and chaperones
are required to have a ticket.
All tickets are non-refundable.

All students (ages 3+) and adults are required to purchase a ticket.

The program will last about an hour. The scavenger hunt takes about 45-60 minutes, so please plan on at least 90 minutes to 2 hours for the full experience.
