Chocolate Lab tickets are available on a first come – first served basis and may be purchased at The Hershey Story admissions desk on the day of the class. Space is limited. Children must be at least 4 years old to enter the Lab.
10:15 to 11:00 a.m.
Hoppin’ Chocolate Bunnies
Welcome in spring by molding and decorating your own, adorable chocolate bunny using milk and white chocolate. Learn where chocolate comes from as well as the ingredients and processes involved in making your favorite kinds of chocolate.
11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Chocolate by Design
What makes dark chocolate dark and white chocolate white? This class answers those questions and offers a close look at a real cocoa pod and cocoa beans. You’ll taste raw chocolate and after getting the inside scoop on what makes chocolate so tasty, create abstract and completely edible “art” using milk, white and dark chocolate products.
12:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Chocolate Bird Nests
Celebrate spring by making your own, edible chocolate bird nest complete with eggs! Learn how “cacao” begins its journey from the rainforest to decadent white, milk and dark chocolate varieties. This class is educational and uniquely fun.
2:00 to 2:45 p.m.
Planet Chocolate
Learn about the many places around the globe where cocoa beans are grown and how to recognize differences in “cacao” based on geographical origin. You’ll have an exclusive opportunity to taste and compare chocolates made with cocoa beans sourced from specific regions. Each participant makes a unique milk chocolate bar to take home.
3:15 to 4:00 p.m.
“Eggsciting” Chocolate Creations
Mold a scrumptious milk chocolate bar and turn it into a colorful spring treat with unique and completely edible Easter-themed decals. Learn how cocoa beans are grown, harvested and processed into your favorite kinds of chocolate.
