Homeschool Program: Trolleys, Trucks & Trains
October 6, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm
Join us for a special hands-on program,
just for homeschool and virtual learning groups!
Trolleys, Trucks & Trains:
The Transportation that Built a Chocolate Town
Offered every Wednesday in October(6, 13, 20, 27)
at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m.
All programs are the same.
A factory in a cornfield? Come discover how transportation played a key role in Milton Hershey’s decision to build his factory and town in rural Pennsylvania. Using items from the museum’s collections, families will participate in hands-on activities to learn about the various and unique vehicles used in Hershey, and how they changed over time.
Explore how these vehicles transported students, workers and visitors, as well as supplies to create a town unlike any other. This program also includes an educational transportation-themed scavenger hunt through the museum exhibits. Plus, all participants will make their own edible Hershey’s chocolate vehicle to take home and enjoy!
$11 for everyone ages 3 and above. Those 2 and under are free.
Pre-registration is required. Tickets are available here.
The program will last about an hour and the scavenger hunt takes about 45-60 minutes , so please plan on at least 90 minutes to 2 hours for the full experience.
This program is for homeschooling families. Private programs are available for groups of 15 or more. Please contact Elizabeth Lindsay at [email protected] or 717.520.5588 if you have any questions or to book a private program.
